SVS in Brussels
SVS in Brüssel - 03.03.2026
The Social Insurance Institution for the Self-Employed (SVS) provides comprehensive social security coverage for nearly all self-employed individuals in Austria — including tradespeople, farmers, new entrepreneurs, and freelancers. As Austria’s nationwide provider of health, accident, and pension insurance for the self-employed, the SVS plays a central role in ensuring stability and protection across all sectors. With our high-level event at the European Parliament in Brussels, the SVS aims to shine a spotlight on the future of social protection for self-employed individuals across Europe. This gathering will bring together leading experts, policymakers, and representatives of EU institutions to discuss current challenges and explore innovative approaches to strengthening social security systems for the self-employed.
The program will feature keynote speeches, expert discussions, and country-specific insights. We will highlight best practices, present recent research findings, and foster an open dialogue between academia, practitioners, and policymakers.
